Bidding Opens for £490 Million Road Funding (England)

Councils across England have until the 30th June 2017 to bid for a share of £490million to improve their roads.

The money is being made available by the National Productivity Investment Fund, which is providing £1.3 billion to enhance transport links to boost growth and is available for schemes between 2018 and 2020.

The funding is designed to tackle congestion and provide upgrades to local roads to improve journey times, bids are encouraged for a wide variety of schemes including those that make use of technology and open up the data held by local councils.
